Dakar - John Coltrane As a young jazz nerd, I fell too far under the sway of Morton and Cook’s Penguin Guide to Jazz on CD.  Some of their critical pronouncements led me away from interesting albums.  I recall them being particularly ambivalent about this one.  To me, it’s a good, straight-ahead early Coltrane recording that also features Pepper Adams on baritone sax.
